Waldorf School of Philadelphia
Sixth Grade with ROMR Volunteers
Grade School Teacher Sasha Swayze Dews ‘ class of 6th graders toured Constellation Energy’s Visitor Center and Ryan Observatory at Muddy Run. The students were treated with slide presentations about the Earth’s position is space as that view has changed over the centuries, and how the contributions of various cultures and individuals over time have led to our modern views of astronomy and cosmology. Tours of our local galactic neighborhood gallery and views through the observatory telescopes were capped by a doyen led tour of the constellations and familiar asterisms visible to the naked eye.
